Honorary RIBA Fellowship
11.02.11

Dan Pearson has been elected an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects. The Fellowship was presented by Ruth Reed, outgoing President of the RIBA, on 10 February 2011 on the occasion of the Royal Gold Medal Dinner for David Chipperfield.
The RIBA citation reads:
Dan is a landscape designer much loved by architects. His work enhances their buildings, it does not fight them, offering views and framing the buildings instead of hiding them. His landscaping of the RIBA Stirling Prize winning Maggie’s Centre in Hammersmith by Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners and the gardens for John and Frances Sorrell’s Stirling-shortlisted house by Eldridge Smerin are among the best examples of this design skill.
